Twenty-four teams will play 51 matches over 31 days, starting with six groups of four before a straight knockout from the round of 16. The opening match is in Cardiff on 9 June, the semi-finals land on 4 and 5 July and the final is at Wembley on 9 July.
Nine stadiums will host the tournament: Wembley and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, the national stadium in Cardiff, the home of Manchester City in Manchester, Everton's new ground in Liverpool, St James' Park in Newcastle, Villa Park in Birmingham, Hampden Park in Glasgow and Dublin Arena. Northern Ireland was part of the bid, but no matches will be played in Belfast.
No team has qualified yet. The qualifying draw takes place in Belfast on 6 December 2026, with group matches running from March to November 2027. The twelve group winners and the eight best runners-up go straight to the finals, two places are kept for the best-ranked hosts who miss out, and play-offs in March 2028 fill the remaining spots.
